At least 2,000 people arrested in pro-Palestinian protests on US campuses, AP tally shows | KTVE

SUMMARY: More than 2,000 people have been arrested during pro-Palestinian protests at college campuses across the United States in recent weeks. The protests have spread to campuses nationwide, with students calling for an end to the Israel-Hamas war. The largest demonstrations and arrests occurred at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where hundreds of protesters defied orders to leave and formed human chains as police officers in riot gear attempted to disperse the crowds. The UCLA chancellor called the protests “a focal point for serious violence” and said it had fractured the sense of togetherness on campus. President Joe Biden defended the students' right to peaceful protest but criticized the disorder that has ensued.

Acadiana Live: SOLA Giving Day with the Leadership Institute of Acadiana

The Leadership Institute of Acadiana has already met their $1,000 match and raised over $2,400 of their $10,000 goal. The funds raised will go towards tuition assistance and expanding programs. The Leadership Institute offers programs for anyone passionate about improving the community, including leadership training and board member development. Louisiana DCFS to submit notice of intent to participate in Summer EBT program
