SUMMARY: Happy Friday! Today will be hot and sunny with temperatures starting in the 70s and 80s, reaching the mid to upper 90s by the afternoon in New Orleans. The same pattern continues Saturday, with plenty of sunshine, high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, and extreme UV index. Ensure hydration and sunscreen use if you're outside. New Orleans Weather: Sunny and dry into the weekend, some scattered showers next week

Published

on

www.youtube.com – – 2024-06-13 22:50:15

SUMMARY: Late this evening, isolated showers in Southern Terone Parish and near Lakefront Airport have fizzled out, leaving most areas dry. Clearing skies won't cool temperatures much due to high dew points, with a heat index of 93°F and temperature at 85°F. The upcoming days will remain hot, with mid to upper 90s expected. Father's Day may see some Gulf moisture bringing 30% rain chances, mainly Southshore. An upper high's dominance will limit tropical moisture, decreasing rain chances and keeping the region generally dry. Tropical system development in the Southwestern Gulf may further reduce rain in our area, favoring Texas and Mexico instead.

Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says expect hot and dry days into the weekend. There could be some scattered showers next week.
