SUMMARY: Thieves in Baton Rouge used double-sided tape to fish out rent checks from a property management rent check drop box. The owner of the business is warning others about this method, especially due to increasing incidents of check washing in the area. The thieves targeted the drop box at The Key Finders and managed to take two rent checks and two money orders. The owner, Jeffrey Welsh, called the tenants to find out what happened and reviewed security footage, discovering the thieves wearing masks and using a cell phone to take pictures of the checks. Welsh is now urging other property management companies to review their security measures.

SUMMARY: A nationwide outage has impacted thousands of people in Southeast Louisiana, with AT&T customers being the most affected. Other providers like Verizon and T Mobile also experienced issues, but mostly when trying to contact AT&T customers. AT&T has restored three quarters of their network and is working to fully restore service. Verizon and T Mobile have confirmed that their services are fully operational. People experiencing an emergency and seeing “S OS” on their phones can still call 911. Wi Fi calling can also be used for non-emergencies by going to phone settings and turning on Wi Fi calling. Local sheriff's offices have confirmed that their phones are working.

Customers had found themselves unable to make calls, with some calls showing an “SOS” mode message which means cell phones can still reach 911.
