Tenants in sticky situation after thieves use tape to fish rent checks out of drop box

The owner of the business is warning others about this method, especially due to increasing incidents of check washing in the area. The thieves targeted the drop box at The Key Finders and managed to take two rent checks and two money orders. The owner, Jeffrey Welsh, called the tenants to find out what happened and reviewed security footage, discovering the thieves wearing masks and using a cell phone to take pictures of the checks. Welsh is now urging other property management companies to review their security measures.

Metairie Sprinter hopes to beat the odds at Olympic trials

He was a standout athlete in both track and football at East Jefferson and then Gallaudet University, a school for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Gregory is the first student-athlete from Gallaudet to qualify for the Olympic trials, aiming to inspire others through his journey.

Gregory needed to pour everything into performing because he starts every race with a disadvantage, Gregory is deaf. “If you want to do it, you can do it,” he said.

New Orleans Weather: Small chance for rain Friday, heat returns for the weekend
