SUMMARY: Senator Bill Cassidy announced in May that FEMA will provide funding to improve the stormwater drainage system in the city and help with future flooding. He discusses the bipartisan infrastructure bill that brings significant funding to Louisiana, despite the Republican delegation voting against it. Cassidy believes that the bill will benefit the state's economy in the long run and attract businesses and residents. He highlights flood mitigation, coastal restoration, and improved internet access as some of the initial projects. He also mentions the energy transition and the potential for job opportunities in the industry. Cassidy criticizes the Republican Party's support for former President Donald Trump and expresses his desire for more options in future elections. He emphasizes the importance of infrastructure investments, accountability, and chip manufacturing. Cassidy believes that common sense should prevail, and bipartisan efforts are necessary to address issues like flood insurance and coastal restoration.

We sit down with Senator Bill Cassidy to discuss the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and what it means for Louisiana and the state's insurance crisis.
