School bus driver ticketed for reckless operation after crash in Watson; some students report ‘minor’ pain

SUMMARY: A school bus in Livingston Parish, Louisiana crashed into a UPS truck after the driver rear-ended the truck as it stopped to avoid hitting a vehicle on the shoulder of the highway. The collision pushed the truck into another vehicle. The bus was carrying 55 students from South Live Oak Elementary and Live Oak Middle School, but there were no major injuries. Five students reported minor discomfort and were released to their parents for a medical check-up. The remaining students were either picked up by their parents or transported home on a second bus. The bus driver was ticketed for reckless operation.

Wednesday 10 PM Tropical Update: Alberto expected to move inland in Mexico by Thursday morning

SUMMARY: I'm Shice Gibson and I'm Devon Bellato. Texas is under a tropical storm warning, but conditions should remain like today. Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin reports a recent burst of thunderstorms near the storm's center, with winds increasing to 50 mph but the storm remains disorganized. It's moving west at 9 mph and is expected to make landfall by early tomorrow morning, weakening thereafter. Strong winds recorded offshore will begin to subside, although rainfall will continue, mainly in Mexico. Further storm activity in the Bay of Campeche is expected to stay away from Texas. A new invest and upper high will bring temperatures back to the mid-90s.

Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin says Alberto is expected to move inland in Mexico by Thursday morning.
