SUMMARY: Firefighters in Franklin have been working tirelessly to combat intense heat for weeks. When the Franklin Fire Chief asked for help, the community responded overwhelmingly. Fire Chief Brandon LaSalle took inventory and found they had received numerous donations, including 43 cases of sports drinks and 225 cases of water. The Chief had posted on Facebook and the post was shared 786 times. The firefighters in St. Tammany Parish saw the post and offered their assistance. Both departments have been helping each other out, as they are mainly comprised of volunteers. The donations received will be shared with other fire departments in the area.

“We've had hundreds of phone calls into my office about how the community can help the firemen,” Franklinton Fire Chief Brandon LaSalle said.
