Man caught in gunfight on S. Acadian while commuting to work

SUMMARY: A man named Allen Cutrer was caught in a shootout while driving to work in Baton Rouge. He heard a loud pop, followed by a second, louder pop, and realized he was being shot at. The car behind him was the target, and it swerved across traffic after being hit. Cutrer’s truck was also damaged, with a shot in the fender and a shot in the tire. Thankfully, he was unharmed, and two families in a nearby restaurant helped him change his tire and ensured he was okay. The shooting is still being investigated.

Coffee talk with Abbeville mayor and guest addresses concerns in the community

Guns, meth and fentanyl lands OK man 25 years in prison

SUMMARY: An Arkansas judge sentenced Allen Ray Thompson, a 32-year-old Oklahoma man, to 25 years in prison on June 12. Arrested on August 3, 2023, in rural Boone County, Arkansas, Thompson was found with over 10 pounds of methamphetamine, nearly 2,000 fentanyl pills, four firearms, and one stolen firearm. A previously convicted felon, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl with intent to distribute. Text messages indicated he was delivering drugs to Harrison area customers. Thompson’s sentence includes $2,000 in fines and a five-year supervised release term. The FBI, Arkansas State Police, and other agencies investigated the case.
