SUMMARY: Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has been recognized as one of “America’s Most Treasured Stadiums” by the Historic Stadium Caucus, a bipartisan group aimed at preserving iconic stadiums nationwide. The caucus, created by US Representatives Garret Graves and Mark Pocan, wants to ensure that stadiums remain updated, secure, and maintain their historical value. Tiger Stadium, which will celebrate its 100th year in 2024, is seen as a local icon that not only supports the regional economy but also fosters unique game day traditions that make college athletics special. LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward appreciates the recognition and the need for dialogue on protecting historic stadiums.
