SUMMARY: A teenager has been arrested for sexually assaulting and beating a homeless man to death in New Orleans. The victim, identified as Marty Williams, was known to live in the area where he was found. Police arrested 19-year-old Joel Warren and charged him with second-degree murder after surveillance footage captured the attack. Williams, who was mentally disabled, had been homeless for over 10 years and was highly vulnerable. Homeless individuals, like Williams, are at a higher risk of being victimized, as seen in this tragic case. Outreach workers had previously engaged with Williams, but had not seen him in over a year.
