City honors the dead on 18th anniversary of Katrina

We honor their commitment to ensuring that New Orleans not only recovered but continues to thrive.

Heavy hearts filled the Charity Hospital Cemetery to remember the lives lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina 18 years later.

New Orleans Weather: Beautiful Sunday, warming up early week

McCracken, Rice Defeat Louisiana, 6-1

The game started off in Rice's favor with Manny Garza and Jack Riedel both delivering RBI hits in the first inning, giving them a 3-0 lead. Louisiana managed to score a run in the fourth inning, but Rice extended their lead in the seventh inning with Kyte McDonald hitting a home run. The final score was 6-1 in favor of Rice, tying the series at one game apiece.

J.D. McCracken tossed a complete-game six-hitter and Rice collected eight hits and took advantage of four Louisiana errors in a 6-1 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns before an announced crowd of 3,912 on Saturday at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park.
