Assistance still needed in locating Lake Charles man missing for three weeks

SUMMARY: The Louisiana State Police have extended a Silver Alert for a man named Charles McAlister Jr. who went missing on August 8th. McAlister was last seen at his home in Lake Charles on August 3rd without his wallet, phone, medications, and glasses. His vehicle, a white 2011 Toyota Tundra, was found damaged on August 4th in Cameron Parish. McAlister is a 71-year-old white male with gray hair and brown eyes, and he suffers from a medical condition that may affect his memory and judgment. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office or dial 911.

Family asks for help finding missing Ville Platte woman, candlelight vigil to be held

Duet disappeared while planning to meet her 10-year-old daughter. Her absence is out of character, deeply worrying her family. They've organized daily search efforts with the community, distributing flyers and seeking any information. Family members, including cousin Renee Griffith, urge Duet to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ville Platte Police Department. The family is holding a search and Candlelight vigil at Chief Rera Harrove Park on Friday at 6 p.m.

Lafayette couple opens up about overcoming drug addiction

Chad began using crack cocaine and alcohol at age 12 to cope with abuse, leading to years of addiction and imprisonment. He met Jennifer, his future wife, at a work-release facility, and they married a month before his release. Despite societal backlash, Jennifer's unwavering support and multiple support groups helped Chad achieve sobriety over three years ago. Now certified life coaches, they run a nonprofit, Speaking to Inspire Through Experience, and Jennifer has authored “A Partner's Journal for Healing” to help others battling addiction.

Chad Landry said his drug addiction has been a slippery slope for him; he said meeting the love of his life, Jennifer Landry, helped him realize there are more important things in life.
