Warm and spring-like early this week, cold front Thursday

SUMMARY: Enjoy the warm weather early this week, with temperatures in the lower seventies and highs in the mid to high seventies. Winds from the south will bring in more moisture and slightly higher humidity. A cool down is expected on Thursday, with temperatures in the lower sixties, before warming back up into the seventies over the weekend. Rain chances increase on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with potential for scattered showers. Total rainfall could range from a few tenths of an inch to a couple of inches, mainly along the coast. Overall, a mix of warm and cool temperatures with some rain expected over the next week.

Washington Parish issues burn ban

Naji Marshall, Jose Alvarado among 5 players suspended after Heat-Pelicans incident

SUMMARY: Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler and New Orleans Pelicans’ Naji Marshall have been suspended for one game each after instigating an on-court altercation during their game on Friday night. Miami’s Thomas Bryant and New Orleans’ Jose Alvarado received three-game suspensions for fighting and leaving the bench area. Miami’s Nikola Jovic also received a one-game suspension for leaving the bench area. Butler, who disagrees with his ejection, will lose nearly $260,000 in base salary, while the other players will collectively lose around $115,000. The altercation began when Kevin Love fouled Zion Williamson, leading to physical altercations and ejections.
