SUMMARY: There is a new tropical depression in the Atlantic, expected to become a tropical storm and possibly a hurricane by Thursday. It is projected to strengthen rapidly and potentially reach category 2 or higher by the weekend. The storm is forecasted to pass north of the Caribbean islands and possibly curve and parallel the East Coast. There is another system off the coast of Africa, but it is not expected to pose a threat. In the local forecast, temperatures are expected to be hot and drier, with a surface cold front bringing slight rain chances over the weekend.

Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford has the forecast at noon on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

SUMMARY: Campaign finance reports reveal that two key committees in Donald Trump's political operation only raised $13.8 million in January while spending more than they earned. This was largely due to hefty legal fees from Trump's numerous court cases. The low cashflow presents a concerning picture for Trump as the GOP's presidential nominee, particularly to donors who are not willing to fund his legal challenges. Meanwhile, Trump's rival Nikki Haley outraised his primary campaign committee by almost $3 million. Trump's campaign spokesperson did not directly address the financial situation, but stated that voters are tired of Joe Biden's policies.

LDWF Enforcement advises reporting the incident to law enforcement and not approaching the deer, as it may be temporarily disabled but could become responsive and escape. The department also reminds people that deer are more active during the peak mating season, increasing the risk of collisions with vehicles. SUMMARY: Newly released documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that President Biden’s German shepherd, Commander, bit Secret Service personnel at least 24 times before being removed from the White House. The incidents occurred at various locations, including the White House and Biden’s home in Delaware. Secret Service agents had to take precautions to ensure their safety around Commander, and some agents sustained injuries requiring medical attention. The documents suggest that many agents were fearful of being near the dog. Despite training and other measures, Commander eventually had to be relocated to live with other family members.
