1st and 10: Week 1- 1st half

SUMMARY: In the first week of high school football, LCA visited and had a strong debut, winning 61-38. Westgate hosted New Iberia and honored former Tigers Dionte Spencer and Jared Mitchell. Lafayette High played their home games at LCA and won 36-0. Northside defeated Northwest 20-8. Alexandria Trojans took on the Carencro Bears, with Carencro ultimately winning 46-26. Teurlings hosted Opelousas and won 34-16. STM played at Comeaux and won 45-6. The fans of the week were from New Iberia.

New Orleans Weather: Weak front could bring showers

SUMMARY: Judy Coe McInnis, aged 83, from Big Lake, passed away on February 18, 2024. Born in Lake Charles on February 12, 1941, and a 1959 LaGrange High School graduate, Judy was a majorette leader, part of the Homecoming Court, and recognized for her fashion sense. She married Jim McInnis, and after his law studies in New Orleans, they returned to Lake Charles, where Judy joined The Junior League and worked as a tax preparer. An adventurer and hostess, she enjoyed travel, games, and community. Judy is survived by her daughter, siblings, and granddaughters; a memorial service is set for February 24. Donations can be made to a chosen charity.
