SUMMARY: An 18-year-old woman from Port Barre, Louisiana was killed in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of La. 112 and La. 1146. The woman was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who was properly restrained, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital. The initial investigation revealed that the driver drifted off the road, overcorrected, and overturned the truck. The driver's toxicology sample will be analyzed, and the crash is still under investigation. In 2023, 20 fatal crashes resulting in 22 deaths have been investigated by Troop D in Louisiana.

Cybertip leads to conviction of LC man for possession of child pornography – American Press

SUMMARY: Arthur Dorain Deville, a 50-year-old from Lake Charles, has been sentenced to 51 months in prison and 10 years of supervised release for possessing child pornography. His guilt was established following a cybertip from Dropbox to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about illicit images uploaded to an account, which investigations confirmed belonged to Deville. He admitted ownership and the possession of the abusive material. The case was part of Project Safe Childhood and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig R. Bordelon after investigations by Homeland Security Investigations and the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation.
