Feds deny Lake Charles LNG’s latest extension request | Business

SUMMARY: Lake Charles LNG has been denied a request for a three-year extension to begin exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries without free-trade agreements with the US. However, the company plans to move forward with the project and has the option to reapply for a new permit if it fails to export any LNG by 2025. The Department of Energy ruling criticized the company’s progress, but did offer a potential opportunity for a new export permit in the future. Lake Charles LNG had already applied for an export permit in 2011 and obtained it in 2016.

Judy Coe McInnis  – American Press

SUMMARY: Judy Coe McInnis, aged 83, from Big Lake, passed away on February 18, 2024. Born in Lake Charles on February 12, 1941, and a 1959 LaGrange High School graduate, Judy was a majorette leader, part of the Homecoming Court, and recognized for her fashion sense. She married Jim McInnis, and after his law studies in New Orleans, they returned to Lake Charles, where Judy joined The Junior League and worked as a tax preparer. An adventurer and hostess, she enjoyed travel, games, and community. Judy is survived by her daughter, siblings, and granddaughters; a memorial service is set for February 24. Donations can be made to a chosen charity.
